In The Random Driving Test, a roving host stops members of the public and asks them if they have a driving licence. If they say yes, he makes them a simple, irresistible offer: take a spontaneous driving test right now and, if you pass, you win €1,000. There are only two conditions — there’s no time to prepare, and every minor fault will cost you €100.

Even for experienced drivers it's a daunting proposition. Over time, bad habits develop and rules evolve without us paying attention. Have the contestants picked up lazy shortcuts? Do they still check mirrors properly, signal at the right moment, or stay within updated regulations they may barely remember?

As the test begins, every decision counts. For each minor fault, €100 is deducted from the prize pot. Hesitations, missed checks, poor positioning all add up. Major mistakes could cost them everything.
